An Organic Grain & Oil Enterprise
?Challenge
This organic grain and oil enterprise specializes in organic rice, organic mixed grains, and other premium agricultural products, facing two core pain points: first, widespread consumer skepticism about organic product authenticity (market research shows only 38% of consumers believe the certification authenticity of commercially available organic products); second, exporting to the EU requires strict organic product traceability and carbon footprint record-keeping. Traditional methods relying on paper records and certification labels resulted in scattered data and long audit preparation cycles (2-3 weeks per certification audit). EU customers repeatedly requested complete traceability data from seed to shelf.
!Solution
Farm-to-table full-chain traceability system: every bag of organic product assigned a unique traceability code; scanning reveals seed source, cultivation plot GPS coordinates, fertilization and treatment records (zero chemical synthesis per organic standards), harvest time, processing batch, and quality inspection reports. Key farming operation nodes recorded by farmers via mini-program scan, ensuring first-hand source data collection. Carbon footprint module automatically calculates full-lifecycle carbon emissions from cultivation, processing, to transportation. Blockchain notarization makes key traceability node data (organic certification, quality inspection reports, origin information) immutable, generating digital audit reports compliant with EU organic regulations (EU 2018/848).
Results
Organic certification annual traceability audit pass rate 100%; audit preparation time reduced from 3 weeks to instant report generation. EU customers, able to view complete traceability and carbon footprint data online, doubled their order volume; product export share increased from 15% to 42%. Consumer scan traceability rate reached 71%; products achieved 30% premium pricing due to verifiable organic authenticity. This case was designated as a digital agricultural product traceability demonstration project by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs.
